Lake Chelan Shore to Shore Marathon, Half Marathon and 10k set for September 8th, 2011!
Welcome to the 2012 Lake Chelan Shore to Shore Marathon, Half-Marathon and 10K, Washingtons’ premier destination marathon event!
The Lake Chelan Valley sits in central Washington State, nestled in the North Cascades National Forest. The Chelan Valley encompasses the communities of Chelan, Manson & Stehekin. This pristine, 50.5 mile glacier-fed lake is 1.5 miles at its widest and 1486 ft. at its deepest point. The population of the valley consists of 10,000 year-round residents and several hundred more part-time residents.
The event returns again this year under the direction of the RunWenatchee team and the Lake Chelan Valley Chamber of Commerce.
The course is a USATF certified course for the Marathon and Half Marathon with beautiful views of Lake Chelan, the Chelan Mountains, many wineries and much more!
Note to ALL runners, the course is open to traffic. Chelan County and the cities of Manson and Chelan do not allow street/road closures. We have taken as many steps as possible to provide a safe and enjoyable event. The course will be well marked, mileage markers and well stocked and supported aid stations.
