River Run Half-Marathon, 10K, 5K

The fourth-annual River Run Half Marathon, 10K and 5K will be held on Saturday, Sept. 20, 2014, in conjunction with the Taste of the Harvest Festival in downtown Wenatchee.

Description: The three courses are on a paved trail along the Columbia River and feature flat sections, rollers and a few hills. We encourage walkers to participate in all three events. Strolling along the river is a pastime of many!

Start time: 9 a.m. for the half-marathon, and 10 a.m. for the 10K and 5K

Start line: Pybus Public Market, 7 N. Worthen St., Wenatchee

Finish line: Stanley Civic Center Plaza, North Wenatchee Avenue and First Street, downtown Wenatchee (about a quarter-mile from the start at Pybus Public Market)

Packet pickup: 4 to 6 p.m., Friday, Sept. 19, 2014, at Pybus Public Market, 8 N. Worthen St. Wenatchee; and 8 to 9:30 a.m., Saturday, Sept. 20, 2014, at Pybus Public Market, 8 N. Worthen St., Wenatchee.

Essentials: Aid stations will be located approximately every three miles. Stations will have will have water and energy drink. The three courses also have numerous port-a-potties and park restrooms.

Trash: Leave no trace. Be kind to our beautiful community and waterfront and clean up after yourself. Please don’t abandon trash. Waste baskets will be located along the course.

Views and features: These run and walk courses take participants on a beautiful, traffic-free course that encompasses downtown streets and the Apple Capital Recreation Loop Trail along the banks of the Columbia River. Besides glimpses from river vistas, participants also enjoy views of the Cascade Mountains and foothills. The start is at Pybus Public Market along the Wenatchee waterfront. Pybus is the second largest public market in the state and opened in May 2013. The finish-line area is in the heart of the Taste of the Harvest Festival, with arts and crafts booths, music, a beer/wine garden, food, and plenty of kids activities.

Runner premiums: All finishers will receive a technical shirt. Half-marathon finishers only will also receive a medal. All participants who are 21 years and older will receive a coupon for $5 off the $15 fee (8 tastes and a souvenir glass) to the Taste of the Harvest Festival wine garden.

Awards: The top three male and female finishers in all three distances receive an award.

Timing and results: The race will be timed. Results will be posted on buduracing.com and www.runwenatchee.com after the race.
