Bundle-Up Run (5K Run/Walk and 1K Kids Run)
NOTE: We will have two race bib pickup times for this Saturday’s Bundle-Up 5K Run/Walk. The first one will be held from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. this Thursday during our regular club run at First and Columbia streets. The second one will be from 10 to 11:30 a.m. Saturday, right before the event, at First Street and Wenatchee Avenue. Also, for discounts at Saddle Rock Pub & Brewery following the race, you will need your race bib.
Welcome to the third-annual Bundle-Up 5K Run and Walk and 1K Kids Race, held in conjunction with the Bundle-Up Festival in downtown Wenatchee. Late January is a great time to get outside for a run or a walk and our course along the Wenatchee waterfront is ideal for such a jaunt. This year, the first 500 paid registrants will receive a Bundle-Up coffee mug.
The 1K Kids Race, which is free, is for children 8 years and younger.
We also will be holding a costume contest among runners and walkers, with many great prizes to give away. There also will be a post-race party at Saddle Rock Pub and Brewery, located next to the start/finish area. Participants who show their bib numbers will receive $1 off all beverages (multiple beverages allowed) and 10 percent off all food items.
The Bundle-Up Festival, to be held in adjacent Stanley Civic Center Plaza, will include a petting zoo, hay rides, L-Bow the Clown, exhibits, a fire pit, s’mores, and other food and beverages.
The Bundle-Up 5K Run benefits Wenatchee High School runners.
Course description: The 5K course will begin at the Stanley Civic Center Plaza (Wenatchee Avenue and First Street in downtown), go north on the Apple Capital Loop Trail along the shores of the Columbia River, and then head back to the finish at the Stanley Civic Center Plaza, where Bundle-Up Festival activities will be taking place. The free 1K kids race will go from the Stanley Civic Center to the loop trail and back.
