Columbia Valley Girls on the Run 5K & 2K
Help celebrate and support the Girls on the Run program by participating in the first-ever Columbia Valley Girls on the Run 5K & 2K in Wenatchee on May 18, 2013. This fundraising event will be held on the beautiful Wenatchee waterfront with the start and finish at the new Pybus Public Market and with the Apple Capital Recreation Loop Trail utilized for the courses.
Description: We offer two runs/walks — a 5-kilometer and a 2-kilometer — on the wide and paved Apple Capital Recreation Loop Trail. Both courses offer minimal elevation gain. The start and finish will be at the community’s new Pybus Public Market.
Start lines: At Pybus Public Market, located at the corner of Orondo Avenue and Worthen Street in Wenatchee.

Parking: Parking is available at Pybus Public Market and at the adjacent Riverfront Park. There also is some parking along Worthen Street. Another option is to park in downtown Wenatchee and walk the three blocks (via either Orondo Avenue or the Riverwalk Crossing pedestrian bridge) to Pybus Public Market.
Essentials: We will have two fully staffed and supplied aid stations on the courses. Stations will have water, energy drink and gels.
Trash: Leave no trace. Be kind to our beautiful Wenatchee waterfront and clean up after yourself. Please don’t abandon trash.
Views and features: The Apple Capital Recreation Loop Trail is located just feet from the Columbia River and offers views of the water as well as those of the North Cascades and Wenatchee Foothills to the west. Pybus Public Market, which opens in April 2013, features a mix of food, beverage and arts vendors along with the Wenatchee Valley Farmers Market and entertainment.
Course note: The Apple Capital Recreation Loop Trail is open to all users during the event, so please give other users the right of way.

Runner premiums: Participants who want to pay an extra $5 will receive a commemorative shirt.
Post Race Food: There will be food and liquid refreshment available for all runners at the finish area.
