Horse Lake Trail Runs (5-mile and 10-mile courses)
Special announcement: Parking is limited (approximately 80 spots) at the Horse Lake Reserve where the event will take place. So RunWenatchee has arranged for a shuttle service from the Wal-Mart parking lot, 2000 N. Wenatchee Ave, to the race site and then back afterwards on race day, Saturday, May 11. The shuttles will load from 7:30 to 7:45 a.m. and leave from Wal-Mart at 8 a.m. sharp. We also are encouraging folks to car-pool to Horse Lake as well.
Be on hand for the first official trail runs ever held at the Horse Lake Reserve in the Wenatchee Foothills on May 11, 2013. There will be two loop trail runs — a five-miler and a 10-miler. This is a fundraiser for the Chelan-Douglas Land Trust, which is raising $8.1 million for land acquisition, stewardship and trails restoration in the Wenatchee Foothills. The Horse Lake Reserve, which is owned by the land trust, is located about three miles northwest of the city of Wenatchee and is known for its wildflowers and stunning views of the North Cascades and the Wenatchee River and Columbia River valleys.
Description: We are offering two runs — a 5-miler and a 10-miler — on a single-track nicely-graded trail and dirt roads. The start and finish will be on the Horse Lake Reserve. These loops make for great runs — with elevation gains and drops — in an incredible setting.
