RunWenatchee receives grant for trail mile-markers
WENATCHEE — RunWenatchee is pleased to announce it is one of 25 organizations to receive a regional impact grant from
the Community Foundation of North Central Washington.
The $5,500 grant will go toward the Apple Capital Loop Trail Mile-Marker Project. RunWenatchee is spearheading a $22,500 fundraising drive to get the final eight mile markers on the Loop Trail fabricated and installed. Emergency responders say a mile-marker network will improve response times to the trail. The mile-markers also are meant to enhance the experience of locals and visitors and to brand the trail as an important community asset.
A total of $10,840 has been raised (as of Nov. 20), with $5,340 of that coming from a GoFundMe campaign started by RunWenatchee.
As part of the Community Foundation grant, the trail mile-marker project will be one of 25 projects that make up GiveNCW, a crowdfunding campaign aimed at helping all the projects raise additional money and meet their goals. The campaign will run from Nov. 27 through Dec. 31. To donate or for more info: www.GiveNCW.org.
