Dear Steve,

The Chelan Douglas Land Trust invites you to an exclusive briefing of a new Chelan County poll that we partnered with the Washington Wildlife and Recreation Coalition on recently to test conservation values and voter support for conservation policy and funding in the new 8th Congressional District, with an emphasis on Chelan County. Please pass this invitation on to the members of RunWenatchee.

The poll – conducted by the nationally respected polling firm of Public Opinion Strategies – revealed many unexpected findings, including these findings throughout the district:

The difference between Eastern and Western Washington residents are significantly less than believed on conservation issues.

71% believe that even with budget problems, funding to safeguard land, air and water should not be cut;

Residents actually say that protecting public lands and the nation’s natural beauty and history on these public lands is one thing our government does best.

Please join us on August 15th from 10 to 11 a.m. at the City of Wenatchee Community Center (504 South Chelan Ave.) for an exclusive presentation of the results by the polling team, including specific results for Chelan County. Learn about the methodology behind the polling and how Chelan County residents compare to the new 8th Congressional District.
